InformationThis original fashion plate comes from the first edition of the work Journal des Dames et Des Modes published in Paris between 1912 and 1914. There were only 1279 copies of the work ever produced which were sold mainly to wealthy French subscribers. Several famous illustrators contributed to the magazine including Barbier, Nammy, Vallee, Wegener, Brunelleschi, and others. Very influential in its time, Journal des Dames illustrates fashion in an art-deco style, foreshadowing the jazz age.
